EMERGENCIES
Please call us on 01383 347931 during our opening hours and we will always see your pet in an emergency. Patients who are hospitalised with us at Forth Coast Vets during the day will continue to be cared for by us, overnight depending on the level of care they require. This will always be discussed with you in detail.
Here is our two step emergency process.
Step 1
When we are closed, please contact VidiVet (via the app). A vet will send you a personalised video response within minutes on any concerns you may have regarding your pet’s health. They will let you know whether it is safe to wait to see us at Forth Coast Vets in the morning, or whether you need to attend our Out Of Hours Service (see below).
How VidiVet works:
Send your question to a vet at any time, day or night. You will receive a video reply from one of their vets within just a few minutes.
This is a free access service to a vet when we are closed, via the VidiVet app. You can ask their vets any question and they will tell you how urgently you need an appointment – Please register here: go.vidivet.com/forthcoast
Step 2
For life-threatening emergencies or if you have been recommended by VidiVet,
Our emergency service is provided by Vets Now.
These are between the hours of 19:00- 08:30 on the evenings of Monday to Friday. And from Saturday 12:00 Monday 08:30.
Alternatively, you can call the Vets Now Kirkcaldy directly on 01592 328089.
The address of the Vets Now Kirkcaldy clinic is 2 Pottery Street, Kirkcaldy, KY1 3ET. Get directions here
In extreme circumstances such as a need for intensive care monitoring throughout the weekend for example, we would collaborate with Vets now or the Dick Vet small animal hospital. This would be discussed thoroughly with you before a potential transfer. The best interests of our patients in their care and welfare are of paramount importance for decision making.
If you have any questions or concerns please call us on 01383 347931 and we are more than happy to guide you further.
